Phil Spitalny was born and raised in Chattanooga. He attended the Baylor School before attending the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he received a B.A. in Political Science.
Phil graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia Law School in 2013 where he participated in the Trial Practice Seminar and the Public Interest Practicum. Phil served as a law clerk during school and interned for a Federal Magistrate Judge immediately upon graduation. He began his practice in 2014 at the Whitfield County Public Defender’s Office in Dalton, Georgia, and quickly gained a vast amount of litigation experience defending against allegations of violent crimes, sex offenses, DUI and drug charges, and property crimes.
In 2019, Phil was promoted to Senior Attorney in the Catoosa County Public Defender’s Office. Phil has a robust reputation of successfully fighting for his clients, helping Defendants and their families navigate each and every stage of criminal or civil litigation. He joined our office in 2022 and focuses his practice on Criminal Law and General Liability Defense. In his free time, Phil likes to travel with his wife and dog, usually with his golf clubs in tow.
