Kevin T. Beck (of Counsel)
BIO:
After graduating with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law, Kevin entered private practice in Chattanooga in 1998. In 2005, he was appointed to serve as legal counsel for Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute, the accredited psychiatric hospital operated by the State to serve 52 counties in east and middle Tennessee. As legal counsel, Kevin’s practice involved a wide range of legal matters, including employment law, health care law, mental health law, litigation, administrative law, and privacy law. Additionally, he supervised department investigations of alleged employee misconduct and patient abuse, and he has regularly assisted the courts, prosecutors, and defense counsel in forensic matters pertaining to competency to stand trial, the insanity defense, and involuntary judicial hospitalizations. In 2019, Kevin was promoted to director of legal services for all 4 psychiatric hospitals operated by the State of Tennessee, overseeing all aspects of their legal departments. In 2022, Kevin decided to return to the private practice of law, and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm.
